300 Hour Advanced Yoga Study & Teacher Training


If you have completed any 200-hour or more teacher training program that meets the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 standards (or be within a month of completion) and would like to continue your education and practice, YCM offers 6 Advanced Modules that can be taken as stand-alone trainings, or taken together in any order to complete your 300-hour Certification and Yoga Alliance Registration – RYT300.

Our 300-hour Training program will provide and in-depth exploration of the topics of anatomy and physiology, sequencing and alignment, Ayurveda, yoga philosophy and its roots in the practices of asana, pranayama and meditation. Special consideration will be given to the therapeutic applications of yoga in specific circumstances.

Required reading and report assignments are due at the end of each module, and a certificate is awarded upon completion. Students can register for RYT300 upon completion of all 6 modules and with documentation of 100 teaching hours since graduating from a 200-hour program.

(Curriculum includes but is not limited to the following:)

Module A: The History and Philosophy of Yoga

Yoga is evolving for modern times, but the foundation and the fundamentals of this philosophical system has roots that run deep. In this module you will explore the origins of yoga- the Vedas and Upanishads. You will discuss the Kelshas and the Koshas and why yoga brings us into a state of greater health. With the guidance of your teachers you will study classic yogic texts, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad-Gita and apply their messages to modern life. You will benefit from the teachings of different lineages learn tools for integrating their practices for the desired outcome.

Module C: Theory and Energetics of Sequencing

Sequencing is an art as well as a science. Creating a class that will offer the greatest therapeutic value for your student will help them to develop a deep and committed practice for their own well-being.  In this module you will learn to assess the energy of the student, their condition and the seasons.  You will work with the 5 Prana Vayus and the concepts of Langhana, Brahmana, and Samana to create the most balanced practice. These principles will be carried throughout the subsequent modules and applied in specificity. Special consideration will be given to sequencing for beginners and sequencing for different stages of life.

Module E: The Science of Ayurveda

Originating from the Hindu Vedic tradition nearly 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda states that a balance of three elemental substances, the Doshas, equals health while imbalance equals disease. There are three Doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. One Ayurvedic theory states that each human possesses a unique combination of these Doshas which define this person’s temperament and characteristics. Each person has a natural state, or natural combination of these three elements, and should seek balance by modulating their behavior or environment. In this module, you will explore Ayurvedic Science and take an in-depth look at the Doshas, work with diagnostic techniques and Ayurvedic practices for overall health and well-being.

Module B: Yoga for the Emotional Body

Think back to the most powerful yoga teachers in your life and how they guided you through yoga practices that moved you to a deeper place. In this module you will explore tools for working with emotional health and healing for your students. You will learn to guide them through practices that reduce general anxiety and fear, and deeper emotional disability. You’ll also build your creative problem solving, intuition and listening skills through guided practicum. Yoga techniques and sequencing will focus specifically on Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders and Trauma.

Module D: Anatomy and Yoga for the Physical Body

How well do you know the body? When you encounter students with injuries or limitations, how confident do you feel about teaching them safely? In this module, you’ll gain deeper insight into your students’ (and your own) anatomical uniqueness. Build confidence with anatomical variations, understand and learn to work with physical limitations, and develop the skills and confidence that will take your teaching to a new level.  Our teachers present a more in depth approach to the bones, muscles, joints and fascia, while also giving therapeutic sequences to deal with physical limitation and ailment.

Module F: Pranayama, Meditation and the Mystics of Yoga

This series is particularly helpful to those who may be looking to grow and expand their physical approach to Yoga into teaching from a spiritual and mystical place that allows for personal transformation. Participants will explore the many facets of Pranayama and Meditation and they will take an in-depth look at the koshas and the chakras. They will experience techniques in Energetic Movement and Transformative Yoga, and begin to understand the power and use of tantra, mudras, mantra and bijas.

For those looking for a condensed track for 300HR Certification, it is possible to
take the weekend and weekday programs at the same time!

Option 1

When: Weekend
Time:  Friday 6:00-9:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm–5:45pm
Length: One weekend each month for 3 months
Location: St. Louis Park Studio

Option 2

When: Mondays
Time: 9:30am–3:00pm
Length: 8 consecutive Mondays
Location: St. Louis Park Studio

Option 3

When: Thursdays
Time: 6:00pm–9:30pm per module
Length: 11 consecutive Thursdays

Option 4: On The Road

When: One Weekend Per Month
Time: Fridays 6:00pm–9:30pm, Sat/Sun 11:00am-7:00pm
Length: 2 year program

Payment Options

Payment in Full:
A la Carte: – $700 each;
300-Hour Program paid in full (all 6 modules to be taken within 3 years) – $3,800

Payment Plans:
$250 deposit and $159 per month during each month of training.
All six modules paid on a 1-year payment plan: $500 deposit and $292/month for 12 months after deposit.

Once you register for any module you will be able to purchase class passes and additional tech sessions for $12 per class (our lowest rate). Students can register for RYT500 upon completion of all 6 modules, and with documentation of 100 teaching hours since graduating from a 200-hour program. Reading and Homework

Required reading and report assignments are due at the end of each module, and a certificate is awarded upon completion.

Advanced Tech Sessions

Three advanced tech sessions per module are included in your tuition. Each advanced tech session is 1.5 hours. Advanced tech sessions explore deepening your knowledge in pranayama, meditation, asana and more.

Advanced students will have the opportunity to do an expanded mentorship with a teacher of his/her choice. The apprentice will assist in the teacher’s class once a week for 3 months and have 3 hours of one-on-one time with teacher. Students enrolling in the full 300 hour program may take the apprenticeship anytime after completion of the third module. Students enrolling in modules individually may take the apprenticeship upon enrollment of final module.
