YCM offers both prenatal and postnatal classes and workshops, and a variety of wellness and spa services designed especially for moms-to-be, new moms, and their babies.[/vc_column_text]

Prenatal yoga can help you stay fit, reduce stress, enhance sleep and relaxation, and prepare you for childbirth… and a healthy baby.
YCM prenatal classes use meditation and pranayama (breath work) for childbirth preparation, as well as asana (yoga poses) for strength and flexibility. Come prepared to calm your mind, and safely build strength in this class designed for pregnant moms. You can join class at any time during your pregnancy. No yoga experience necessary.
If you’re a mom-to-be, or new mom, make yoga a part of your journey. Our yoga concierge can help you create a personal program that will bring health to you and your baby. No yoga experience is necessary for prenatal yoga classes, so they’re a great place to start your yoga practice if you’re a beginner. You can reach us at 612-436-4700 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be sure to get your health care provider’s okay before you begin a prenatal yoga program.[/vc_column_text]

Yoga Bonding is a baby integrated yoga sequence that is a fun, uplifting way for moms–caregivers and their babies to build trust, confidence and love together. The benefits for babies are wonderful; babies sleep better, have better digestion, are better adjusted, and happier! Yoga Bonding starts class with baby yoga, and then you’ll have an opportunity for your own practice with the sequence created specifically with mom’s postnatal needs in mind. Baby becomes part of your practice.
Infant/Baby massage fosters closeness between parents and their babies through touch and bonding opportunities. Babies benefit by learning to let go of stress early on. Parents improve confidence in understanding baby’s communication.
Everyone is welcome Moms, Dads, Partners, Grandparents and Nannies. Join class when babies are about 4 to 6 weeks old or when you have permission from your caregiver to exercise. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring 2 blankets for baby.
When baby’s needs are met and they feel safe and cared for, the foundation is laid for a lifetime of trust and security. The first year of life establishes the ground stone of the “earth element” energy we need to sustain a long and happy life. This energy is what establishes our “survival programming,” such as diet, exercise, amount of sleep, and how to care for ourselves when we’re ill. Practicing yoga bonding with your baby assists in motor development and helps them develop emotional intelligence, which has been documented as key to having a solid personal life strategy and good coping skills.
Anyone and everyone can benefit from a regular yoga practice, but if you’re a new mom you have an even bigger reason to keep yourself healthy and strong, calm and balanced. When moms are calm and happy, so are their babies!
Babies need physical contact, with touch, sight and sound important to development of their sense of trust, security, and self confidence. Spending time interacting with baby creates a spiritual connection and bond, and allows you to absorb the many wonders of their first year. A regular practice will also help build your own confidence as a parent.
Here are a few other ways a regular practice can contribute to your wellbeing, and your baby’s:
- Helps you establish a routine and build on baby’s growing knowledge of anticipation and repetition.
- Because the Yoga Bonding Sequence is physically engaging as well as mentally stimulating, it’s also tiring. So baby will sleep better and longer, allowing mom to sleep better and longer.
- Practice will also improve baby’s digestion and assimilation, and aid in neuromuscular development. The routine will also help regulate baby’s emotions, and relieve fussy behavior and colic.
- A regular practice will help you strengthen and tone your body, increase endurance, improve digestion, regulate your hormones and reduce stress and anxiety.
Our JAI Yoga Bonding class is designed to be fun as well as a healthy physical and mental exercise for moms and babies. We start class with baby yoga, and then let moms work on their own practice with the sequence created specifically for moms’ postnatal needs. The class is part moms’ group, part yoga class. We feed babies, diaper them… whatever needs doing is part of the experience. Classes also provide an open forum for conversation, where friends are made and community is created.[/vc_column_text]
