Wendy has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and has been influenced by Coleen Elwood, Tara Sherman, Jennifer Gray, and Matthew Sanford. Wendy graduated from the 230 hour teacher training at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2011 and completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Adaptive Yoga Teacher Training at Mind Body Solutions in 2013 where she teaches adaptive yoga.
Having suffered from chronic pain Wendy’s practice has evolved over the years. She is currently in the 1000 hour Somayoga Therapy training at Yoga North International Somayoga Institute. After trying almost everything for her pain with no relief she found somayoga therapy to be the most effective and is grateful to her teachers Molly McManus and Ann Maxwell for educating her how to heal herself. Wendy’s personal experience has made her passionate about working with people who are in pain or want to stay out of pain. Her classes weave in somayoga therapy to bring an effective balance of mobility, stability, and strength to the practice.
Wendy is so happy to be a part of the Yoga Center of Minneapolis community where her yoga journey began and continues to grow. Not only does she treasure the mind body connection her yoga practice has given her, but also treasures the connections it has given her with others and the wonderful community it provides. Her teaching style focuses on empowering and educating her students to bring their yoga practice into daily living.
