Director of Teachers + Programs
Bridget joined the staff of the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2012 when she moved to the Twin Cities from Chicago, IL. With over a decade of experience in program development and teacher education, Bridget is passionately committed to the advancement of meaningful learning for all.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in Biology. With a passion for the importance of understanding core principles of science and a commitment to meaningful engagement in the world, she initially found herself working within the non-traditional setting of science museums. There she created project management approaches and measures for success in science education advancement for both children and adults, and contributed to the development of public science experiences and the awards of NASA, NOAA and NIH federal grants.
As a life always does, things shifted in early 2011, and she found a unique overlap with her love of science and her need for more emotionally rooted experiences when she went to a yoga class. Soon after in late 2011, she completed her 200hr certification and within a year was helping to manage a studio grounded in the development of compassionate community. Since completing her initial training, she has guided over 1,000hrs of practice enhanced with her favorite nuggets of science knowledge and a connection to the needs of each individual student in her classes. Her teaching even overlapped with her museum work when she helped co-create the Yoga Under the Stars program at the Adler Planetarium + Astronomy Museum, Chicago, IL.
As is her calling in life, she hopes one day to help all teachers enhance their abilities to reach more people through their programming, elevating the inherent goodness and connection there is to find in everything around and within us.
