For as long as she can remember Rachel immersed herself in physical activities. Growing-up an athlete developed her belief in the connection between the mind and body. Like many people she was drawn to yoga as a way to stretch tight muscles but continued simply because it felt so darn good! It was only natural she focused her career goals on this mind-body integration. After dabbling in careers ranging from anthropologist to news reporter she completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2005. Her work with clients focuses on healing that integrates mind, body, and spirit.
A yogi since 1992, Rachel completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training with Dana Baptiste in Utah. She has continued her studies with Cameron Shayne (Budokon), Bryan Kest, Seane Corn, Ana Forest, Sarah Powers, Alanna Kaivalya, and Rolf Gates, among others.
Rachel operates her psychotherapy practice, YogaPsych, PLLC, at the Dharma Wellness & Spa in St. Louis Park. There she offers dialogue based psychotherapy for individuals and couples as well as psychotherapy blending yoga and breathwork. To learn more about her services visit www.yoga-psych.com. Rachel would like to thank Yoga for helping her “keep it real.”
