Which Level Should I Take?

Yoga class levels offer a general guide to the amount of experience and skill needed to feel comfortable and excel in a class. While studios rate their classes differently, all use a one-to-three numbering system, which helps students determine the right fit for them.

Level 1

First time on a mat, haven’t been in a while or your building up strength and flexibility.

Our four- and six-week series classes are a great way to explore how yoga can benefit you, and an inexpensive way to get started building a solid yoga foundation. The Absolute Beginner Class series will help you identify which style of yoga can bring physical and mental balance to your lifestyle, explore basic techniques and poses, and gain confidence as you learn and grow. Level 2

Level 2 classes are designed for those who’ve had some experience, feel comfortable practicing modifications, and are ready for more challenging poses, paces and concepts. You understand the basics or have grown comfortable with the idea that yoga is a constant journey and there’s always something new to learn.

Level 3

Level 3 is for the experienced yogi and yogini. You’ve been practicing for a while and feel confident in challenging yourself and modifying poses to suit your needs.

YCM drop-in classes offer classes and workshops for all levels.Choose from a variety of styles and levels, and attend classes as your schedule allows. No registration is necessary.

We invite Twin Cities metro-area residents to receive your first week of drop-in classes for only $25. This one-week unlimited pass is valid at both studios for drop-in classes only, and must be purchased at the time of your first class.

Practicing at least three times a week either in a class setting or on your own will help you realize its mental and physical benefits.
