Preparing for Class

How to Prepare for Your Yoga Class

  • If you’re new to YCM, please arrive early to fill out a New Student Form.
  • Yoga is best practiced with bare feet and on an empty stomach. (Avoid eating 1-2 hours beforehand)
  • Avoid wearing perfumes or other fragrances, or smoking cigarettes before class.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to stretch easily.
  • We encourage you to bring your own yoga mats, but we do provide free loaner mats and props. (also available for purchase at both studios).
  • Inform your teacher if you’re injured, pregnant or have any medical condition that requires caution.
  • Silence mobile phones while at the studio. (You may leave your cell phone with the desk attendant if you are expecting an important call.)
  • Please enter the yoga studio quietly to support our meditative environment. If you are late, please check with the front desk to see if it is appropriate to enter.
  • Attend your correct class level to ensure your comfort and that of the other students.
  • Classes of fewer than three students may be cancelled or shortened at the teacher’s discretion.
  • We try to keep our class sizes small, so we encourage online check-in prior to class so that we may accommodate everyone. Online check-in saves your spot in class. Be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early.
