Jo Mary Fahey
Jo Mary appreciates the opportunity to share her practice of yoga as a teacher here at the Yoga Center. She came to the Yoga Center in October 2008 to join the year long Yoga Study program to deepen her personal practice and to further evolve as a teacher. She started practicing yoga at the end of 1999 and has been teaching since 2003. Jo Mary has been practicing in long-term care physical therapy for 20 years and has been involved in physical therapy education. Currently, she is on the faculty of a new physical therapist assistant program at Dunwoody college in Minneapolis. She is honored to now be involved with the Yoga Center's yoga study programs teaching anatomy. She is fascinated with the human body, how its put together and how it moves. Her skill as a teacher lies in her keen eye for alignment and understanding how to modify yoga postures based on what each body tells her. Her joy as a teacher comes from those moments when she asks, "are you feelin' me?" and she can see that yes indeed she has been felt.
